Time Warp

by Kit Marcotte, 2006

Once upon a time there was a family of eight members.  Their dad was very smart so he built a time machine.  He took his family along.

When they arrived they saw a forest.  So they explored.  They saw amazing things.  They accidentally stumbled upon a Cherokee camp.  They explored it even harder.

But suddenly they got caught by Indians with blow guns.  Their chief asked who they were.  Before they spoke a few giant spiders dropped and took an Indian for dinner.  They escaped fast.  Their work was done.

Was what we saw true?  Yes, said the Cherokee leader.  I can’t believe it the dad said.

Next time we will set some traps.  Are there any other monsters?  Yes, said the chief.  There are dinosaurs, ghouls, and enemy tribes.

Speaking of enemy tribes, they stole our gold.  Gold?  Yes, magic Gold!  We’re having war over it.  Good luck with that.

But we have to go.  Bye!  Oh no!  Our time machine is broken!  Well, looks like we’re not leaving.

We shall help with the war.  Let’s get prepared now.  Let us also pump up a fake dinosaur to scare them for the war.  But a big one too.  So big that they will never return!  It will scare them so bad!  Well, let’s get to pumping and make other traps.

Let’s go to sleep now.  When they woke up, they ate breakfast.  They also saw a dinosaur so they activated all the traps and used their blowguns.  It finally fell down dead.  They kept eating.

The war was about to start.  The armies were face to face when a six armed elephant came from the sky.   It held two swords.  They thought they would have to fight even more.

Instead he made peace between them.  The other Indians gave back the gold.  They became friends.

The Indians were so nice that they let the man and his family make a wish from the magic gold.  Then they returned home.  They were happy.

One day they went back.  They wanted to see their friends again.  But that’s not what they saw.  Instead of a forest and creatures, they saw burning villages and a destroyed forest.

Their friends were no more.  They missed their friends so much.  The oldest child said some could have survived.

But they saw Indians with claw marks on their entire bodies.  They were lion marks.  A lion dressed in gladiator clothes put a spear to their heads.  Their dad got an invention but it got wiped out of his hand by the lion.

Later they got help from the six armed elephant once again.  He went to go make peace.

The elephant was half way to the temple when a jail cell fell on him.  He could still see the temple.  The lions took him in.  When they were inside the temple he cut the bars open.

The only way to defeat the army was his magic powers.   So he used them.  Then they all turned into the forest.

The forest was back to normal.  The Indians and animals were back too.  Nothing in the forest was wrong.

They stayed for a while.  They had fun.  The family said goodbye and lived happily ever after.
