DRAGON'S WEB

A Short Story
by Kit Marcotte
Fourth Grade

Once upon a time there was a knight named Kit the Furious.  He was fearless because he never lost a battle.  Also because he was the best knight in the kingdom.  His king was Sir Hinkle.

Sir Hinkle was king because he was wise and a good leader.  He named his kingdom after him so people would know it was his castle.

But one day a dragon came to the castle before anyone could warn the king.  It snatched Kit’s friends.  They were Sir Braden, Brandon, Varun, Zach, Carson, and a few other brave knights.  When the dragon flew away the king was mad.

So Kit left to save them.  Before he got there he saw the king in the dragon’s claws.  The dragon was at its volcano.

Soon he saw his friends tied to the volcano.  They were tied to a giant spider web.  That’s because the dragon would spit web instead of fire.

A mysterious person with a hood and cloak rode on the dragon.

Skeletons with axes were going to attack his friends and the dragon was going to drop the king.  It was a tight spot!  What would he do?

The rider suddenly jumped off of the dragon.   He flipped over his hood.  It was a snake!  He had a sword in his hand when Kit said “Shall we battle to the death?”  “Yes” hissed the snake.

But first he threw his sword.   It cut the web and it freed his friends who beat the skeletons.  Then he shot down the dragon with arrows and saved the king.

Then Sir Kid did a triple front flip over the snake, and turned around.  Then he hit the snake’s sword out of its hand, said “En guard!” and killed him.

So he carried them off on his noble steed while the lightning struck at him and he was being chased by the eruption of the volcano.  He out ran it on his horse and saved the day!

The End.
